Do you never seem to master the basics of playing the guitar.
Want to be able to play the guitar so you can impress your friends and colleagues?
This article reveals the five essential steps to start playing the guitar.
Sitting Position. To feel relaxed when you're sitting playing the guitar, you have to adopt the correct sitting position. Take your guitar and ensure the body of the guitar supported by your leg. Make sure you are sitting on the edge of your seat and your back straight but relaxed. Your guitar should be tilted toward you a bit. This alone will start to make learning and playing the guitar easier.
Standing Position. When you play guitar in the standing position you need to ensure that your body is relaxed and the guitar is held securely. Take your guitar and put the strap over his shoulder. The strap should be adjusted so that your guitar is at approximately waist height. Your left hand will support the neck of the guitar and your right hand on the bridge of the guitar. These easy steps will ensure you are relaxed and have control of the guitar.
Hand position. In order not to cause tension or strain on your wrist or thumb, which can cause injury, proper hand position is essential. Wrists and hands should always be in a state of relaxation to avoid stress. The thumb should never be placed too low on the neck. The fingers should be positioned on the fret board and make sure you do not have to stretch to play any of the strings.
Fretting. To make sure you press the strings on the fret board correctly, here are some important tips. Keep your nails cut short, long nails will make proper fretting impossible. Only the tips of your fingers should press the strings against the frets. Proper contact between the finger tips and the strings will produce a clear clean sound that is not muted and without buzzing.
Holding the Pick. The pick is the contact point between the strings and your hand, and needs to be held correctly. Hold the pick between the thumb and the index fingers. Held correctly it will produce a clean clear sound when you strum it against the strings.
